In the USA, they are still looking for the crew of the crashed fighter plane

The AP agency reported on the crash of the plane with reference to the navy on Whidbey Island. Search teams, including an MH-60S helicopter, took off from a base on the island to try to find the crew.

They struggle with mountainous terrain and cloudy weather. The navy, military and civilian planes and helicopters, including spy machines, are searching for the crew of the wrecked machine.

“Aerial operations continued throughout the night, taking off from NAS Whidbey Island and searching an area 30 miles west of Yakima,” the Navy said, continuing, “No crew or debris has yet been located.”

The last such accident occurred in May of this year, with an F-35 on its way from Texas to an air base near Los Angeles. The pilot crashed during his stopover for fuel in the state of New Mexico. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Last year, eight members of the United States Air Force died in the crash of a CV-22B Osprey off the coast of Japan.

The air station from which the crashed aircraft took off is tasked with training all EA-18G pilots and teaching them standard operating procedures for aircraft maintenance and operation. EA-18G Growler machines are part of the first line of defense, according to the Navy’s website.

Almost all Growler aircraft are based on Whidbey Island. One of them is located at the Iwakuni Marine Corps Air Base in Japan, writes AFP.

The Navy itself states that military aircraft exercises can be dangerous and sometimes result in crashes, injuries and deaths. The number of crashes of military training flights has been increasing in the last few years, writes the New York Times.
