“On June 1, at three o’clock in the morning, on the D1 near Šilheřovice in the Opava region, our inspectors targeted two sets of the same Polish carrier, with whom they already had experience of violating regulations. And again, the vehicle set was overloaded by 15.9 tons and the motor vehicle by 5.8 tons,” INSID spokeswoman Monika Balšánková told Novinkám.
She added that the bail for the company was set at 140,000 crowns, the driver was fined 15,000 crowns.
The second driver of the Polish carrier tried to avoid this check. Trucks drive on highways in the so-called train, when the vehicle that is either completely fine or overloaded to a lesser extent usually drives in front. When the police stop the first truck, another one tries to run away.
This also happened with Šilheřovice. The second truck tried to go around the inspectors, but the patrol stopped it a little further, before the Klimkovice exit near Ostrava.
“The inspection then revealed that the set was overloaded by 22.2 tons, the motor vehicle weighed more by 8.5 tons. In addition, he violated the regulations when using tachographs,” the spokeswoman specified.
In this case, the deposit for the Polish carrier was 300,000 crowns and the fine for the driver was 15,000. All fines were paid on the spot. Both sets were shut down and had to wait for the load to be transferred.

This year in March, the same Polish transport company received a bail of 200 thousand crowns for overloading the truck. And the driver again paid a fine of 15 thousand.
“The fact that the second driver tried to drive away at Šilheřovice only indicated that he was again knowingly driving more than he can according to the documents,” stated INSID inspector Tomáš Láryš.
He pointed out that they are not interested in imposing fines on companies, but the important thing is to achieve a remedy. “Overloaded vehicles have worse driving characteristics, longer braking distances and significantly burden the road infrastructure,” he emphasized.
The inspection did not specify the name of the guilty company. According to information from Novinek, it is the Polish company Salexpol, which manufactures, sells and transports, for example, concrete sumps, septic tanks and rainwater tanks.
