Enough! scored points in 11 regions. And it doesn’t have to be a final number

Such a close result as in the Liberec region was not enough! in the other eleven regions, on the contrary. It won a total of 40 representative mandates across the entire republic.

“It is a great success and I thank the voters very much for giving us their trust and not letting the media manipulate them into thinking that our coalitions have no chance,” Konečná celebrated the final election result.

MEP and KSČM chairwoman Kateřina Konečná managed to bring the communists, who play a major role in the coalition, back to the local councils in many parts of the country.

The association of left-wing parties, in which members of the Union of Democrats-Association of Independents, the Czech National Social Party, and perhaps members of SOCDEM also appear on the candidate lists, did not succeed in the parliamentary elections in 2021, but has been strengthening ever since.

In June of this year, Konečná defended her mandate as a member of the European Parliament, along with her, the voters sent Ondřej Dostál to the European Parliament.

Now Enough! scored points in the regional elections, especially in the Ústecký and Moravian-Silesian regions, where the coalition’s gain exceeded seven percent and where it has five representatives each. In addition, the Ústí Region is a bastion of communists. From 2012 to 2020, Oldřich Bubeníček, a long-time member of the Communist Party of the Czech Republic, who ran again this year and won the regional representative mandate, served as governor.

They will be looking for votes in Liberec

In a few days it will be clear if it was enough! the representative office of the twelfth region, that of Liberec, will not be filled either.

“In the Liberec region, we are convinced that the eight votes are traceable with the current error rate. After all, in the past we succeeded as the KSČM, when the court returned our mandate in Brno,” commented the KSČM chairman and leader Stačilo! on social networks.

The results in the Liberec region will probably be recalculated.

“I am sincerely happy that the coalition Stačilo!, which was a puzzle until the last moment, did not make it to the Liberec region council,” said Martin Půta, the winner of the elections in the Liberec region, the current governor and leader of the Mayors for the Liberec region, shortly after the votes were counted.

If, however, after recalculation for Enough! those eight missing votes were found, he probably wouldn’t be cheering so much anymore. It would gain two mandates, of which the Mayors for the Liberec Region and the Spolu coalition would lose one each.

Coalition Enough! in some regions across the country, it is part of the negotiations on the leadership of the region. However, it has already ruled out a coalition with the government parties.

In the simultaneously held senate elections, candidate Stačilo! was successful in the first round. Jaroslav Komínek will compete in the Chomutov district and in the second round for the position of senator against the current senator Přemysl Rabas (SEN 21). Komínek won 23.33 percent of the votes, the second Rabas has 20.73 percent of the votes.

Kateřina Konečná became chairwoman of the KSČM in 2021. At that time, the communists joined forces with other left-wing and nationally oriented entities. The Communists have long had the highest membership base in the Czech Republic, but this is also because they followed the totalitarian KSČ. However, the number of members is decreasing, last year there were about 18 thousand of them.
