The 12-day period for overseas voter registration for the June 7 election will close at midnight. The records of the Central Election Commission, until today’s morning, show that over 117 thousand requests for registration have been received, of which about 100 thousand have been received, while 7 thousand have been rejected and over 10 thousand are awaiting review.

“Tonight at midnight, on May 17, the 12-day period for the registration of voters outside Kosovo will end. During this period, at the time of registration, voters were able to determine individually the way to vote, either to vote physically in one of the diplomatic missions or to vote by mail,” said Valmir Elezi, CEC spokesperson.

RTK reports that the largest number of voters, over 76,000, according to the Central Election Commission, chose to vote by mail, while another 23,000 voted physically at embassies or consulates.

The countries with the largest number of registered voters are: Germany, Switzerland, France, Sweden, Austria, Britain and other countries.

Even the citizens of Kosovo who are abroad on the election day of June 7, will also have the opportunity to vote.

The Central Election Commission has enabled these citizens to register during the period for the registration of voters outside Kosovo, which began on May 6 and will end today on May 17. The registration procedure is the same as for the registration of voters outside Kosovo.
