Copenhagen security collection, Osman: the Western Balkans under the influence of the “wicked triangle”. Serbia, like Russia

As the European Union is discussing to address the threats coming from Russia, Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, demands that Serbia be considered an aggressor state for the countries of the region.

Prior to the European political community meeting, Osmani told journalists in Copenhagen, Denmark, that the continent is facing two major risks, so unity is needed by all EU allies.

However, I have to add that unity is not enough. There is also a constant need for consistency regarding the addressing of aggressors and dictators. There are currently two main threats to the security that come to our continent countries. One comes from Russia, as it is known. The other, especially in our region, comes from Russia’s satellites, Russia’s supplements in our region, which is Serbia. I think the European Union should be consistent in the face of these two aggressors, because you cannot treat one as an aggressor and a dictator, while the other as a partner for peace,”Said the President of Kosovo.

Osman said Serbia and Russia follow the same inherited strategy over the centuries whenever they find gaps of influence in the Balkan region.

Serbia has treated its neighboring states as non -existent states, as interim states, as states to which it behaves with aggression. Of course, it’s the same strategy as Russia. Unfortunately Russia supports Serbia in this effort. Traditionally and for centuries they have used the same concepts. Russia talks about the great Russia in the Russian world. Serbia speaks of Greater Serbia in the Serbian world. They use the same methods, so for us they are both a threat.

We must bear in mind that in our region there is never a vacuum of influence. If a positive Western influence is missing, the malicious forces of the ‘wicked triangle’, which is Russia -Kina -Irani, always come there not for charity, but because they have bad strategic interests. It is therefore very important that enlargement continues with the Western Balkans, for those Western Balkan countries that meet the criteria and work for the values on which the EU is based,President Osmani said.
