On Saturday, June 6, the doors of 17 embassies and 13 consulates of the Republic of Kosovo in 18 countries will be opened to vote for all citizens who have registered to vote abroad. CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi gave details about the process.
“Of the 132,212 voters outside Kosovo, only 27,724 citizens of Kosovo have the right to vote in these diplomatic missions, who have registered in advance and have selected physical voting in any of these 30 missions. Election materials have been sent to these missions and they are ready for voters. … on June 6, voting abroad will also end for about 104,488 voters registered to vote through mail, a process which started on May 21. … Ballots that correspond to voting in diplomatic representation and voting by mail, will be withdrawn and their counting will be done in Kosovo, said Valmir Elezi, Spokesperson of the CEC, Kosovo.
After the Central Election Commission announced that all preparations for the June 7 elections have been completed, the president Kreshnik Radoniqi called on the citizens to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
In order to guarantee the integrity of the election process, the State Prosecutor announced that over 100 prosecutors and system officials will be engaged on the day of voting.
On Sunday, about 2 million citizens can vote in 2550 polling stations belonging to 949 Voting Centers.
Regular voting will be possible in 911 of them, while conditional voting will take place in another 38, one for each municipality.
