“Bring him to justice.” A Russian blogger took on Putin, ended up in psychiatry

“Five reasons why I stopped supporting Vladimir Putin. Someone had to say it,” the 42-year-old blogger wrote in his post. Among the reasons why he no longer supports Putin is the war in Ukraine, the huge damage to the Russian economy and the well-being of Russian citizens, and the suppression of Internet and media freedom. Other reasons are the length of time Putin has been in power, and also the fact that Putin does not respect his voters and does not want to listen to them.

After Remeslo published this post on Tuesday at 22:06, he gave a number of interviews, according to Meduza. Subsequently, however, “he stopped answering phone calls and did not appear on social networks for several hours.”

On Thursday morning, it turned out that Remesl was hospitalized at a psychiatric clinic in St. Petersburg. According to Meduza, this information was confirmed by the Fontanka server hospital.

In a post in which he states the reasons why he no longer supports Putin, he wrote that Russia is waging a war in Ukraine “exclusively because of Putin’s complexes” and that ordinary people “don’t get anything from it, they only lose.”

At the end of the article, he stated that Putin is not interested in domestic politics or the problems of voters. He mentioned that there is no opposition in Russia and that Putin is afraid of participating in debates. “Those who tried to criticize him were either labeled as foreign agents, or are abroad, or in the grave,” he stated.

“Vladimir Putin is not a legitimate president. Vladimir Putin must step down and be brought to justice as a war criminal and thief. Long live freedom, dammit,” he concluded.

The craft previously became famous in Russia for, among other things, attacks on the now-deceased oppositionist Alexei Navalny. Previously, he also publicly supported the Kremlin’s official policy and acted as a pro-Kremlin blogger and propagandist. But that all changed in mid-March, The Guardian noted.
