The chairman of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party, Taulant Balla, reacted today by expressing his support for the Albanian students in North Macedonia, who demand that the jurisprudence exam be conducted in the Albanian language.
He described their request as fair and natural, stressing that the use of the Albanian language in academic processes is a fundamental right that must be respected.
In a post on social networks, Balla said that he supports the legitimate request of Albanian students in North Macedonia to take the jurisprudence exam in the Albanian language, which is not allowed to them, even though the Constitution recognizes it as their right.
“If the procedures turn out to be deficient, it is the obligation of the Parliament and the government of North Macedonia to find fair and sustainable solutions”, said Balla.
Thousands of citizens in Skopje, in North Macedonia, most of them students and academic staff, protested for the second time in a row, demanding the holding of the Jurisprudence exam in the Albanian language.
With placards in their hands, the protesters started marching towards the Ministry of Justice, demanding the resignation of the Minister of Justice. One of the main demands of the students is that the exams be organized and conducted in the Albanian language.
