Balkan Youth Meetings Summer Camp opened in Edirne

Edirne Governorship Balkan Cities Cooperation Organized by Edirne Platform 3rd Balkan Youth Meetings Summer Camp was opened.

Under the auspices of the Governorship of Edirne, 352 students and 34 teachers from 11 Balkan countries participate in the camp program organized with the contributions of the Ministry of Interior General Directorate of Civil Society Relations, Ziraat Bank and Rumeli Academy Education and Culture Association.

“There is no peace in a place where there is no peace, there is no youth, education, health or a healthy state understanding. As the construction of the future, you will establish togetherness, brotherhood and friendships. With the friendships you will establish, I am sure that you will do your best to have peace in the Balkans and a better Balkans. All of the Balkans will be able to develop the dialogue in the Balkan country.

AK Party Edirne Deputy Fatma Aksal said that the summer camp will improve friendship ties.

Stating that the strengthening of the relations between young people is important for the future, Aksal said, “The friendships acquired here will be instrumental in peace in the Balkans and wish to contribute to the world peace. We want the participants to return to their countries with good memories.” he said.

Cenk Ergüden, Deputy Mayor of Edirne, said that with an understanding that exceeds the boundaries of the summer camp, it will allow new friendships to sprout from common history and values.

Rector of TU Dr. Mustafa Hatipler said that the program will increase the friendship and brotherhood among the students from the Balkan countries.

A student from Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina, representing the students who participated in the camp, also made a speech.

Following the speeches, students from the Balkan countries exhibited folk dance performances.

The program ended with the opening of the themed exhibition “Reflections from Selimiye Mosque” prepared by Edirne Maturation Institute and taking family photo.

Camp program

In the summer camp, visits and teachers will be organized for Istanbul, Keşan Gökçetepe and Edirne.

Sports events, concerts and cultural conversations will also include the camp within the scope of the students will have the opportunity to perform science experiments at Trakya University Faculty of Education.

The summer camp will end on August 2.
