A three-kilometer security zone is being created around Putin’s residence in Sochi

According to Meduza, the borders of the security zone will be marked both on land and at sea. According to the proposal, the construction of heliports, shooting ranges, the operation of paintball and airsoft clubs, animal breeding, dumping and posting of banners will be prohibited in the zone. Cars and motorcycles will also not be allowed to be repaired there.

Drone flights and anchoring of vessels will also be prohibited – with the exception of one precisely defined section of the dam. The Federal Protection Service should cover damages caused by the restriction of the rights of people living in the protected area, but Putin’s critics dispute this.

Bočarov Ručej has served as the official residence of the Russian president since 1991. During his first two terms of office, Putin repeatedly hosted foreign representatives in Bočarov Ručej. Since 2014, he has held regular meetings there with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, but from 2022 they will be held in a different format.

Bočarov Ručej is undergoing a “general reconstruction”. At the beginning of 2024, the main building in the presidential complex was demolished and a new one is allegedly being built in its place.

Putin also has two other official residences: in Novo-Ogaryovo in the Moscow region and in Valday, where a house was built for Alina Kabaeva, the alleged partner and mother of Putin’s children. Putin also has a palace on Cape Idokopas on the Black Sea coast near Gelendzhik. All Putin’s residences have medical facilities, anti-aircraft shelters and very careful air defense. They are guarded, among other things, by special secret units of the Russian army.
