A minibus crashed near Česká Lípa, one dead and ten injured

The collision occurred on the I/9 road between the Česká Lípa exit and the intersection at the autodrome in Sosnová.

The police initially had information about two accidents involving four cars. On the spot, she found out that three cars had crashed in Sosnová around 18:30. “The driver of a Mercedes passenger car drove in the opposite direction for reasons not yet determined, where he collided sideways with an oncoming Škoda Superb vehicle and subsequently with an oncoming minibus,” said police spokeswoman Dagmar Sochorová. The Mercedes driver died in the accident.

Due to the number of injured, the rescuers activated the trauma plan. A helicopter of the Prague Air Rescue Service arrived to help the rescuers, transporting one patient with a serious injury to the hospital in Ústí nad Labem.

“We took three patients with moderate injuries to the trauma center in Liberec, six other people, two of them minors, with minor injuries were transferred to a hospital in Česká Lípa for further treatment. Unfortunately, one person succumbed to his injuries on the spot,” rescue spokesman Michael Georgiev told Novinkám.
