Videos circulating on social networks show a black car speeding up and driving into a crowd of people. One photo shows an injured person in a green jersey lying on the sidewalk.
According to the Newsweek server, a total of 17 were injured, including the driver, who is now in custody. According to the authorities, emergency services took the patients to several hospitals. One person is in serious condition.
“On behalf of the city council, I would like to express our deep solidarity with the affected persons and their families in relation to the unfortunate events that took place tonight,” said local politician José Manuel Larumbe Pineda.
