The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has stated that the judgment of the Special Court in The Hague is unfair, stressing that the institutions of Kosovo will do their best to correct it through appeal procedures. Speaking at today’s meeting of the Government of Kosovo, Kurti said that the statement approved by the Assembly on this matter constitutes the first step and, according to him, expresses the will of the people of Kosovo.
“The declaration in the Assembly of Kosovo is the first step and expresses the will of the people. We will do everything possible to have this judgment corrected in the Appeal.” Kurt said.
At the meeting, the prime minister also spoke about his visit to the United States of America, within the framework of the session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Kurti said that during his stay in the USA he discussed the issue of missing persons, the rights of Albanians in the Presheva Valley, as well as economic issues and other topics of interest to Kosovo. He also stopped at the agreement of the Albanian political subjects from Presheva, Bujanoc and Medveja for joint participation in the parliamentary elections in Serbia. According to Kurti, the Albanian political representatives from these three municipalities have reached an agreement to compete with a joint list, called the “Albanian Coalition”, in the October 25 elections in Serbia.
