(ISTANBUL) – Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Disaster Affairs and Risk Management Department AKOM shared its current meteorological assessment regarding the expected adverse weather conditions throughout the city. According to the latest investigations, the entire Marmara Region, especially Istanbul, is under the influence of a new wave of cool and rainy weather coming from the Balkans. Rainfall is expected to gradually increase from the weekend and be effective throughout the city throughout the next week.
RAINS WILL INCREASE ON SUNDAY EVENING
According to AKOM’s predictions, the rains that will be seen as local transitions on Saturday will increase their effect as of 18.00 on Sunday. It is stated that the rainy weather that will spread throughout the province will continue in the form of intermittent showers and occasionally heavy showers throughout the next week.
TEMPERATURE WILL DECREASE TO 15 DEGREES WITH NEIGHBORHIZ
The wind is expected to get stronger from the northerly directions (northern winds) starting from Saturday noon and reach speeds of 30 to 60 kilometers per hour. With the strong northerly wind blowing, it is predicted that the air temperatures, which are currently in the range of 22-24 degrees, will drop to around 15-18 degrees and fall below the seasonal norms.
