The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has signed the decree for the dissolution of the Assembly of Serbia and announced the extraordinary parliamentary elections, which will be held on October 25. The decree signed by Vučič foresees the dissolution of the Assembly resulting from the parliamentary elections of December 17, 2023, paving the way for early elections.
The decision was taken on the basis of the reasoned proposal of the Government of Serbia, dated September 7. Speaking from the Presidency of Serbia, Vučić officially announced the dissolution of the parliament and the setting of the election date, nwhile seeking to run for the post of prime minister.
According to the presidential decree, it enters into force on the day of its publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia.
