The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) met again this Friday (August 28) in the hall of plenary sessions of the Assembly of Kosovo, continuing the request for the resumption of the constitutive session. In addition to the representatives of PDK and AAK, representatives of the Embassy of the United States of America in Kosovo and the Office of the European Union in Kosovo were also seen in the Assembly hall. The deputy of PDK, Ganimete Musliu, said from the floor of the Assembly that Kosovo has been taken hostage by the deputy Albin Kurti and his party, Lévizja Vetëvendosje, who, according to her, are playing with the fate of the country and the patience of the citizens.
“Kosova has been taken hostage and this is a shame. Kosovo has been taken hostage by a party that came to power with big words. Kosovo has been taken hostage by a party that managed to misuse the citizens’ hope for a better life for its own ambitions for power”. said Musliu.
Emphasizing that all those who have entered the “dance of state destruction” will be punished by law and history, Musliu reiterated PDK’s request that Albin Kurti and LVV return to the Assembly to constitute this institution. Even the deputy of the Alliance, Besnik Tahiri, has criticized the parliamentary majority for not establishing the Assembly, saying that this situation has plunged Kosovo into a deep social, economic and political crisis.
He said that the situation in the country is getting worse and is heading towards a critical point, linking the situation with the aspect of security and economy.
“Now this parliamentary majority, which for several days has been boycotting and not exercising its constitutional duty, with the non-constitution of the Assembly, has brought Kosovo into a deep social, economic and political depression”. Tahiri said among other things.
PDK and AAK have requested the continuation of the constitutive session, while the presence of international representatives comes at a time when political parties are facing a continuous institutional deadlock.
