The Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, inspected the works for the construction of the third bridge over the Ibër River in Mitrovica, describing the project as an important investment for development and security.
According to him, the bridge will be 65 meters long, 22.5 meters wide, with four lanes, sidewalks on both sides and two roundabouts, while the project also includes the construction of a new road segment and the rehabilitation of the riverbed.
Kurti stated that the aim is to protect the environment, increase security and improve the infrastructure, while adding that the works are going according to plan and the bridge is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Even the acting Minister of Infrastructure, Dimal Basha, emphasized that the bridge will facilitate the movement of citizens, will help the security agencies and will create new opportunities for the development of businesses.
During the visit to the north, Kurti also participated in the inauguration of the rehabilitation of a part of the Ibër-Lepenci canal in Zhabar of Zubin-Potoku. He described the project as a strategic investment for water security, recalling that this channel supplies water to power plants, agricultural lands and over 500 thousand inhabitants in nine municipalities.
According to him, the investment of 18 million euros has rehabilitated key segments of the canal, built an emergency reservoir and aims to prevent risks, guaranteeing the continuity of services. The projects are part of efforts to strengthen strategic infrastructure and improve services for citizens in northern Kosovo.
