Kurti: Prishtina 2030, an opportunity to prove Kosovo’s organizational capacity

The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has stated that the organization of the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games is one of the most important projects that the country will carry out in the coming years.

At the first meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Mediterranean Games, which was attended by the Minister of Sports, Blerim Gashani, the mayor of the Municipality of Pristina, Përparim Rama, as well as representatives of institutions and sports, Kurti said that for the first time Kosovo will host a sports event of this magnitude.

“The Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games are one of the most important projects that Kosovo will realize in the coming years. For the first time, our country will welcome a sports event of this magnitude, bringing together athletes, delegations and partners from different Mediterranean countries”, said Kurti.

He emphasized that this organization represents an important opportunity to prove the organizational capacities of Kosovo, to further develop sports and sports infrastructure, as well as to promote the country in the international arena. Kurti also emphasized the importance of inter-institutional coordination for the realization of the project.

“Prishtina 2030 is a joint project of state and national importance, which requires a long-term vision. We are not here to represent separate institutions, but to act as a common coordinating mechanism, where each institution contributes with its responsibilities towards the common goal“, he declared.

According to Kurti, the Government of Kosovo remains committed to the preparations for the Mediterranean Games taking place on the principles of inter-institutional cooperation, transparency, accountability and the highest management standards./KosovaPress/
