A strong storm engulfed the municipality of Suhareka on Monday afternoon, causing material damage both in the city and in some surrounding villages.
The Mayor of the Municipality, Bali Muharremaj, went to the field and published photos on social networks, where he called on the citizens to be careful due to the weather conditions.
“From the strong storm, there is some damage in the city of Suhareka and the surrounding villages. We appeal for caution,” he wrote.
The images obtained from the scene show the moment when the powerful winds tore off a part of the roof of an object and threw it into the air, creating panic among the residents.
So far, no injured persons have been reported, while the material damages are expected to be assessed by the municipal teams that will go to the field.
According to media reports in Kosovo, the storm was unexpected and caused great concern among residents, especially for the safety of buildings and agricultural crops.
Local authorities have warned that they will take measures to document the damage and provide support where necessary.
