The locust swarms that entered Türkiye via the Balkans continue to be active in the Marmara Region. This time, many reports began to come from the Kocaeli area about the giant long grasshoppers, which were first seen in Thrace and the western districts of Istanbul.

Citizens recorded and shared the grasshoppers they encountered in their gardens, balconies and open areas with their mobile phones. Reports received revealed that locust activity was moving towards the eastern parts of Marmara.
It was previously reported that density was observed around Uzunköprü, Keşan, Kırklareli, Lüleburgaz, Babaeski, Çorlu, Çerkezköy, Süleymanpaşa, Silivri, Hadımköy and Arnavutköy.
THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES IN GREECE TOO
A similar movement is taking place in Greece, which is on the migration route. According to the news in the country’s press, disinfection and control efforts are being carried out in Kozlukebir and Şapçı regions between Dedeağaç and Komotini due to the density of locusts.
