The British Member of Parliament, Alicia Kearns, has reacted to the statements of the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government of Serbia, Snezhana Paunović, who had declared that, if she were in Slobodan Milosevic’s place, she would have carried out the ethnic cleansing of Kosovo in 1998.
Through a post on the X social network, Kearns described Paunović’s support for ethnic cleansing as “a stain on the Government of Serbia.”
“Serbian Minister Snezhana Paunovic’s disgraceful support for ethnic cleansing in Kosovo is a stain on the Government of Serbia,” Kearns wrote.
She emphasized that people who are in their thirties today still remember the atrocities that the forces of Slobodan Milosevic’s regime committed against them and their families.
“There is no attempt to justify – much less glorify – these crimes that can make the world forget what happened in Kosovo”, said Kearns.
At the end of her reaction, the British MP called for the crimes committed in Kosovo not to be forgotten, concluding the post with the message: “Never forget”.
