The accident happened around 10:30. The Trnava police stated on the social network about the accident that the driver of the car “probably did not pay enough attention to driving and hit a vehicle with a direction arrow at full speed.”
The driver of the Mercedes suffered injuries that had to be treated by the emergency services, the extent of which the police did not specify.
This week, this is already the second similar collision on the Slovak D1. On Monday, a truck ran into road workers in the direction from Bratislava to Trnava. One of the road workers suffered serious injuries, to which he later succumbed despite the immediate intervention of paramedics and transport to the hospital.
Footage of drivers who crashed after not paying attention to driving was also recently published by the Czech police. In April, a BMW driver crashed into a convoy of trucks at full speed on the D3 highway in front of Kaplic.
In June, on the D1 near Brno, a foreigner behind the wheel of a van crashed into a Tatra tree, under which lay the driver who was repairing his machine.
