A Czech tourist is missing in Egypt

The man has been missing since Tuesday night. Relatives said on social networks that the man was sleeping in the room with the woman, but when the wife woke up between midnight and half past one in the morning, he was no longer there. The wallet and all personal belongings except the phone were left alone, the phone is inaccessible.

The hotel staff has been helping with the search since 1:00 in the morning, but so far without results. The family is worried about the man. He was said to be very depressed a few days before the holiday.

“After recording posts on social networks, our colleagues proactively contacted the daughter of the missing Czech citizen and offered her cooperation. With the consent of the family, the relevant information was forwarded to our embassy in Cairo,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Adam Čörgő.

At the moment, Czech diplomats are said to be in contact with the relevant local authorities and are resolving the situation. With regard to the ongoing consular case and the protection of the family’s privacy, the department did not want to provide further details.

The family said that the man does not drink, but likes to walk and it is possible that he decided to walk at night and could move outside the premises. When he left, he was wearing a black T-shirt, light green shorts and blue slippers.
