Certification of the results of the elections in Kosovo, the CEC awaits the examination of the complaints of the parliamentary parties

The spokesperson of the Central Election Commission in Kosovo, Valmir Elezi, informed that the announcement of the final result of the June 7 elections depends on the conclusion of the appeal procedures and the decisions that will be issued by the relevant institutions. After taking these decisions, it remains to be seen if they contain concrete obligations for the CEC, declared Elezi.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo is the only entity that has filed two complaints with the Electoral Panel for Complaints and Submissions related to the process of recounting 185 ballot boxes, while the 48-hour deadline for their submission ended at noon on Sunday. That body has until Tuesday to give its decision and after this process the way is opened for the announcement of the final results, where according to preliminary data, Albin Kurti’s Self-Determination Movement came out the winner, followed by PDK, LDK and AAK.

Earlier, the CEC predicted that the certification of the result is expected to be completed by the beginning of July, to continue with the constitution of the Assembly, the election of the government and the new president. Kosovo held early parliamentary elections after the 10th legislature failed to elect a new head of state to succeed Vjosa Osmani.
