“On Sunday morning, a bear with her cubs and a hunter collided on the Grobňové trail in the Kremnice cadastre. Before the bear could attack, the hunter shot him,” writes the website čas.sk. He reminds that the hunter managed to prevent the attack of the bear. It is generally known that if a bear is with her cubs, she will defend them under all circumstances. However, it is not entirely clear whether an attack would occur in this case.
“While inspecting the area, a bear attacked a member of the hunting association. He neutralized it in self-defense. Fortunately, it was a person who knew what to do,” said the mayor of Kremnica, Martin Novodomec, adding that the bear did not have time to injure the man.
Members of the brown bear response team and environmental police went to the scene to document everything. “It was in a locality where bears used to occur,” added the mayor of Kremnice. Last September, the beasts were moving near houses and gardens in the outskirts of the city.
At the beginning of June, a bear attacked a forest worker near the village of Liptovská Anna in the district of Liptovský Mikuláš.
