According to the newspaper Bild, the collision took place around 01.40. Pictures from the scene show a terrifying-looking scene where both wagons are lying on the road with one end, while the other is left hanging on the edge of the overpass.
“Two freight trains were carrying out shunting work on the Schleissheimer Strasse overpass around 01:40. This led to a collision in which one train was pushed towards this street and crashed,” a police spokesman confirmed. The police reported that one person was seriously injured and later died. His identity is not known, nor is it clear where he was at the time of the accident.
