“This is how we come full circle and take a break from performing live,” said singer and bassist Ráž. “We don’t know what will happen next. Concerts are demanding for us and we need to rest,” added guitarist and singer Jano Baláž.
The evening was called Elán & friends. This is because the band traveled not only with the current, continuously rejuvenated line-up, but also with a number of former members.

Singer and guitarist Jano Baláž has been in the band since 1981.
Guitarists Juraj Farkaš, Henry Tóth and Juraj Burian, drummers Zdeno Baláž, Gabriel Szabó, Július Petrus, Juraj Kuchárek and Boris Brna, bassist Viktor Hidvéghy, keyboardist Fero Turák, violinists Marián Svetlík and Juraj Madari and wind players Samuel Šimek and Martin Haas appeared on stage as guests.
As Jožo Ráž sings in the song Cigars go to heaven, it was “abnormally comfortable” that evening. Live, the band no longer has that hearty drive supported by the desire to give themselves away, yet they managed to create a nostalgic atmosphere, during which the audience sang along with them to well-known songs and did not miss anything.

In the first part of the evening, the songs Clovečina, Vymyslená, Dresy and I can’t be alone were performed. When the guests started to join, the songs Neglected Sex, Smrtka, Čaba neblázni, Nie sme zlí and others were performed.
Few of the music fans today would bet on the fact that Elán left for good. After all, the Prague concert, which was attended by sixteen thousand people, was proof that he still has someone to play for.
